Our West Indian Kitchen began as a hobby for Guyanese Born June Pollydore more than 40 years ago. Cooking Guyanese staples with her grandmother was so much fun that it became June's passion. Wanting to learn more, she attended Carnegie School of Home Economics where she improved her craft.
June developed a name for herself after upgrading a locally well-known Dance Club into a restaurant and bar where people raved about her Fried Fish, Dhal Puri, Roti, Polurie, Curry, Pepper Sauce and a variety of Guyanese delicacies.
June Pollydore found her professional calling when she migrated to the USA to join the rest of her family. Cooking West Indian food for pot lucks at work, family members and friends brought along requests. The more she cooked the more the requests kept coming. This prompted her to professionally manufacture products that people wanted.
Today, June has already introduced a line of All-Natural Curry Paste and Habanero Pepper Sauce all with the flavor and Authenticity of the West Indies. When asked what prompted her to manufacture these particular products, she stated, " I wanted my customers to experience the taste of my kitchen in theirs".
